Close your eyes and just keep walking, just keep walking, just keep walking Put your hands into your pockets and keep walking, keep walking These are the rules for my day to day in the land of the free and the home of the brave And yes, I could see some things that I could change, I guess I’ll start without saying your name because everybody knows some pleasures are pain and in the darkness, lies your true claim to fame I could shatter windows with my silent screams but first, how do you sound when you speak to me? Because how do you sound if you can’t hear nothin, How do you sound when you speak to me (x2) Let me be honest I can’t stay this strong for long Consuming confrontations got my logic seemed flawed My mind is overwhelmed when I’m up against the odds, feeling up against the wall when we are up against the law so Bring it all together empty pockets and some change And build a strong composure with your sadness and your rage And put it in the middle like two dogs out of a cage ‘cause I know my strongest voice is the loudest from this stage So How do you sound when you can’t hear nothin How do you sound when you speak to me How do you sound when you can’t hear nothin, I could shatter windows with my silent screams.

She says my mind is all over the place  I never could find a place for it anyway  These days are filling me up with  These days are filling me up with  These days are filling me up with her loneliness.  This city don't even know your name  Years pass, people come and they go and they fade awya  Got not time to be shoving myself out the door for you  Got no time for any of it anymore, anymore.  But I could never be satisfied  Living on the other side  Could you just be by my side  Cause don't you know, the grass ain't always greener!  I'm not really a mountain girl  Somehow, I ended up here in a landlocked world  I'd rather you sink me to the bottom  I'd rather you sink me to the bottom  I'd rather you sink me to the bottom  I'd rather you sink me to the bottom

Preface This 03:28
You’re In this world but you can’t get by Try to escape with your hands tied What can I do but cry for you honey? What can I do when they just stand by? I always knew it would come to this Hard to resist without your fist What can I do but cry for you honey? What do I say to preface this? This. I’ll just keep saying I’ll be there for you I’ll just keep saying I’ll be there.

about

Using a beat machine, loop pedal, bass guitar, electric guitar, and her signature voice, Denver staple Jen Korte’s alter ego, Lady Gang, accurately and astoundingly creates songs from nothing: a modern one woman setup that is not reliant on live music production software or bandmates.
Her new Ep, Simple Truths, is a departure from her celebrated Americana career and is a debut not only for Lady Gang as a song writer, but is also introducing Korte as s producer.
Having spent the past few years learning to engineer at home, Korte has taken the executive producers role on easily in this 3 song Ep. Sticking to the idea that the songs should be as accurate to the live show as possible, Lady Gang effortlessly nods to the consistency of a steady hip hop beat and melody painted in with her raw electric guitar lines throughout the production.
How Do You Sound and Preface This draw a stark comparison to Korte’s previous relationship focused lyrics. Aside from the obvious departure from folk rock, Lady Gang lyrically speaks to to her observations of the feelings of helplessness in our chaotic political world.

about

Lady Gang Denver, Colorado

The Lady Gang inception was no ordinary birth. It’s what happens when a once lonely loop pedal, an electric guitar, a beat machine, and a set of pipes that have dominated the Denver music scene for 14 years, collide.
Lady Gang is Jen Korte as she artfully steps outside of the familiar and moves toward the discomfort of a good idea.
